Powering Industrial Infrastructure in Alberta’s 500,000 sq. ft. Manufacturing Expansion
CVS Controls
CVS Controls is a Canadian manufacturer specializing in high performance control valves, instrumentation, and engineered accessories serving the global energy and industrial sectors. The launch of their new 500,000 sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility in Edmonton represents a major investment in Alberta’s industrial landscape and reinforces the province’s role as a leader in energy and manufacturing innovation.
To support this expansion, Unified Automation was engaged to design and implement the complete technology infrastructure required to bring the facility fully online. The objective was to engineer a secure, high capacity, and future ready industrial network capable of supporting complex manufacturing operations across hundreds of thousands of square feet.
This project required more than connectivity. It required a scalable industrial infrastructure solution designed specifically for large scale manufacturing in Alberta.
The Challenge
Bringing a 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility online in Edmonton required more than basic connectivity. CVS Controls needed a fully integrated industrial network infrastructure capable of supporting advanced production systems, warehouse logistics, enterprise IT operations, and secure administrative environments across an expansive footprint.
The facility required a high capacity structured cabling backbone designed specifically for heavy industrial use in Alberta’s manufacturing sector. Network performance needed to remain stable across long distances and multiple operational zones, while maintaining flexibility for future equipment upgrades and system expansion.
Security was equally critical. The site required controlled access across departments, secure vehicle entry points, and centralized oversight to protect assets, personnel, and intellectual property. The infrastructure had to balance operational efficiency with industrial grade durability and long term scalability.
The Solution
Unified Automation designed and implemented a comprehensive industrial infrastructure solution tailored to the scale and operational complexity of the Edmonton facility. The foundation began with the installation of more than 100,000 feet of premium Commscope structured cabling, creating a high performance backbone that connects office, warehouse, and production environments across the entire 500,000 sq. ft. site.
This structured cabling system was engineered to support enterprise level bandwidth, stable data transmission, and long term adaptability within a demanding industrial setting. Pathways were carefully planned to ensure serviceability, expansion capacity, and consistent performance across all operational zones.
Unified Automation also supplied and configured two enterprise IT racking environments that serve as the central core of the facility’s network operations. These secure systems enable efficient data processing, seamless internal communication, and reliable integration of manufacturing technologies.
To strengthen site security, a facility wide access control system was implemented featuring department specific credentials, secure vehicle gate entry, and real time monitoring. Digital event logging and remote management capabilities provide leadership with clear visibility into site activity, ensuring both operational control and asset protection.
Scalable Industrial Infrastructure Built for Alberta Manufacturing Growth
The Result
With Unified Automation’s expertise, CVS Controls successfully launched a fully operational 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility supported by enterprise level network infrastructure and advanced security systems.
The facility now operates on a secure and scalable industrial backbone that supports high volume manufacturing, interdepartmental communication, and controlled access across every zone. Connectivity is reliable. Systems are integrated. Security is proactive.
This project demonstrates Unified Automation’s capability in delivering structured cabling, industrial network infrastructure, and manufacturing facility security solutions in Edmonton and across Alberta.
The result is a future ready industrial environment designed to power growth, protect operations, and support long term success within Canada’s energy and manufacturing sectors.
